Our Team

A Dispatching Team
That Understands Trucking

SMK United Logistics was built by four people who wanted to create a dispatching service that actually works the way owner-operators need it to — straightforward, communicative, and focused on keeping trucks moving profitably.

We're not a large corporation. We're a dedicated dispatch team that works directly with the carriers we support. When you reach out, you talk to a real person who knows your operation.

What We Do

Dispatch Services
We Provide

We support carriers with the operational side of trucking — so you spend less time on the phone and more time driving.

🔍
Load Search
We search available load boards and tap into broker contacts to find freight that matches your truck type, preferred lanes, and availability.
💬
Broker Communication
We handle all communication with brokers — inquiries, updates, check calls, and issue resolution — so you don't have to manage multiple calls while driving.
💰
Rate Negotiation
We negotiate rates on your behalf. We push for reasonable rates based on current market conditions, your lane, and your equipment type.
📋
Load Booking Support
Once you approve a load, we handle the booking process — coordinating all the details between you and the broker before you pick up.
📄
Rate Confirmation Review
We review rate confirmations before you sign to make sure everything matches what was agreed — pickup times, delivery windows, detention terms, and special requirements.
📁
Paperwork & Document Support
We help organize dispatch paperwork, BOLs, and PODs. We keep records of your loads and help you stay on top of documentation requirements.
🗺️
Lane & Route Planning
We look at your current location and preferred home base to plan load sequences that minimize deadhead and keep you in productive lanes.
⏱️
Detention & Layover Assistance
If you're detained at a shipper or receiver, we communicate with the broker to request detention pay on your behalf and document the situation properly.
📞
Ongoing Dispatch Communication
We stay in regular contact throughout your load — handling updates, relaying information, and being available if issues come up on the road.
Simple Process

How We Work Together

We keep our process straightforward. No complicated onboarding. No pressure. Just a clear conversation about your operation and how we can help.

01 🚛
Tell Us About Your Truck
Share your equipment type, MC/DOT info, home base, and availability. We need to understand your operation before we can help you find the right loads.
02 🗺️
We Learn Your Preferred Lanes
Tell us where you like to run and where you want to avoid. We'll search for loads that match your preferences rather than just sending whatever is available.
03 📞
We Search & Negotiate Loads
We search load boards and reach out to brokers. When we find a solid option, we negotiate the rate and present it to you with all the details.
04
You Review & Decide
You always make the final call. If the load works for you, we book it. If it doesn't, we keep looking. Your truck, your business, your decision.
How We Operate

Built for Carriers.
Not Corporate.

Owner-operators have been burned by dispatch services that overpromise and underdeliver. We built SMK United Logistics around a different set of principles.

You Approve Every Load

We present loads — you decide. We never book a load without your confirmation.

No Guaranteed Income Claims

Freight markets change. We don't make income promises — we focus on finding the best available loads for your situation.

Clear Dispatch Terms

Our fee structure is straightforward. You'll know exactly what we charge before we start working together.

No Pressure to Take Bad Loads

If a load doesn't make sense for you, don't take it. We'll keep searching.

Straightforward Communication

We communicate clearly and regularly. If there's a problem, we tell you directly.

Dedicated Point of Contact

You work with a specific person on our team — not a different dispatcher every week.

"
We're not here to look bigger than we are. We're here to do the job right for the carriers we work with — find solid loads, communicate professionally, and let drivers focus on driving.

Equipment

Truck Types We Dispatch

We work with several common equipment types. If you don't see yours listed, reach out — we'll let you know if we can help.

📦
Dry Van
Standard 53-foot enclosed trailers. One of the most common and widely-available equipment types on the market.
❄️
Reefer
Temperature-controlled loads for food, produce, and pharmaceutical freight requiring refrigeration in transit.
🏗️
Flatbed
Open-deck freight including building materials, machinery, and construction equipment. Tarping and securement knowledge required.
Hotshot
Expedited LTL and time-sensitive loads using pickup trucks and gooseneck trailers. Great for independent operators.
📮
Box Truck
Straight trucks for local, regional, and last-mile freight. Consistent freight availability in most markets.
🔗
Step Deck
For oversized or taller cargo that doesn't clear standard flatbed height limits. Common in industrial and equipment hauling.
Dispatch Fees

Simple, Transparent Pricing

We charge a percentage of the gross load rate. No monthly minimums, no hidden fees, no charges when your truck isn't running.

Common Questions

Questions About
Working with Us

Straight answers to questions we hear from carriers before they start working with us.

Ask Us Directly →
What exactly is a dispatch service?
+
A dispatch service works on behalf of carriers to find and book loads. We search load boards, contact brokers, negotiate rates, and handle communication — so you don't have to manage that while you're driving. We are not a freight broker or a motor carrier. We work as an agent supporting your business.
Do I stay in control of which loads I take?
+
Yes — always. We find and present loads to you with all the relevant details. You make the final decision on every load. We never book a load without your explicit approval.
How much do you charge?
+
Our dispatch service fee is 5% of the gross load rate for semi trucks (dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck), and 8% for box trucks. There are no monthly fees and no charges when your truck isn't running. You only pay when we successfully book a load for you.
Do you work with new MC authorities?
+
Yes. We're comfortable working with new authorities and can help walk you through the setup process — carrier packets, insurance requirements, and what to expect when you're just getting started. We won't pretend it's simple, but we'll help you through it.
What documents do I need to get started?
+
Typically your MC number, DOT number, W-9, and a certificate of insurance. We'll walk you through exactly what's needed when you reach out — requirements can vary slightly depending on your situation.
Can you guarantee I'll have loads every week?
+
No — and any dispatch service that guarantees that is making a promise they can't keep. Freight markets fluctuate. What we can guarantee is that we'll be actively searching for loads that fit your truck and lanes, and communicating with you honestly about what's available.
How quickly can I get started?
+
After an initial conversation and once your carrier packet is submitted, most carriers can be active within a few business days. We don't rush the setup because we want to understand your operation properly first.
What if I have a problem on the road?
+
Reach out to us. We handle broker communication for issues like detention, load changes, appointment delays, and other on-road situations. We're not a 24-hour emergency service, but we do our best to be available and responsive when you need us.
